Job Title: Trust Accountant
Reports To: Team Leader
FLSA Status: Exempt
Summary: Provide excellent customer service; process contribution/payroll data; effectively communicate with clients, investment advisors, accountants, auditors, other plan professionals, plan participants, coworkers; prepare accurate trust reconciliations; prepare distribution and loan calculations; prioritize workflow to manage and complete multiple projects within established deadlines; work independently; research and resolve problems and issues as they arise
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Receive, verify and process contribution/payroll data within 24 hours of receipt. Communicate with plan sponsor to research and resolve any data irregularities.
Maintain daily client contact as needed by responding to client calls immediately, researching problems/questions, and responding in a timely manner. Answer questions as required regarding compliance, balances, loans, and distributions.
Understand and resolve client issues.
Communicate technical information in an understandable manner.
Effectively communicate verbally and in writing with internal and external contacts.
Prepare accurate and timely trust reconciliations, which may include correspondence with investment advisors and clients, researching transactions, becoming familiar with various investment reporting, problem solving. Systematically research and resolve account-balancing problems.
Prepare distribution and loan calculations. Prepare liquidation requests.
Prioritize workflow to meet short, intermediate and long-term deadlines
Follow Company prescribed procedures and maintain appropriate plan documentation as required.
Meet Company goals for chargeable time and production.
Notify Administrator/Consultant of potential plan compliance or service issues
Use Microsoft Excel (and Access and Word preferably) proficiently.
Apply analytical skills.
Work additional hours as necessary to meet deadlines and commitments.

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree (B.A.) or equivalent from college or university in finance or accounting; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
